I'm still not feeling it...this inspiration thing is a shit.
For many moons now (more than I care to count), Ultravox have been one of my favourite bands. In fact, Mrs S and I were listening to them when we first started to court in the first half of the 80's. Ultravox were loosely classed as being part of the "New Romantic" movement, but if they were then they were not the average band of that time...mind you, I was not the average young man of that time.
Being lost in a vortex of inspirational loss I took an auditory journey to 1983 today and this is the result.
Bonus points will be awarded if you can name the song that bought about this bare chested travesty.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
OMG! The library his on fire! Tell the housekeeper to call the emergency services! Lets see, 1983... oh yes, not my best year.... I'm a single dad wondering how on earth I can care for two young boys and stay on the promotion ladder! Another fine selfie by the way, even if I don't understand the title. UltraWho?
haha.....'Loves' Great Adventure'.....no not really......loved Ultravox too...especially Midge Ure (swoon)...although (dear of him) He's not aged well....(don't tell him I said that.......) Liking the tatts though....real???
@bill_fe I play with fire when I'm at a complete loss... @paul10 Thanks very much :) @hermann I'd only find a way to take the points away anyway ;) @jesperani I'm pleased I'm not the only one who's still a fan! @tonygig Thank you very much :)
Great shot as always. I've just got a new TV connected to my not so new sound system so one of the first YouTube songs I tried out on it was Vienna - absolutely powerful with the bass turned up.
There are a few extra vortexes in Sedona Arizona. I hate the spinning feeling when you are stuck in the void of inspiration vortex. Good luck stepping/climbing out. No points for me.
I too was a huge fan of Ultravox back in the day. The only problem I had with them was that if I wore my Ultravox T-shirt under a jacket, people seemed to think I was a John Travolta fan. You can imagine how embarrassing that was. Unlike Cute Kitty I was never a fan of Midge Ure....... Much preferred Jon Foxx.
@swillinbillyflynn John Foxx was the man really, although Midge had his moments (and plenty of them). I was in a record store yesterday and accidentally touched a Taylor Swift album.
