I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
How sad for you both, losing a loved canine member of the family is heart-wrenching, even if they had been unwell for a while. I still tear up thinking of Sheba. Vale Lucy. RIP.
Ah Graeme, my heart aches for you... I know just how hard it is to lose a faithful and loved companion. Know that she loved you back, the more so because you rescued her when her racing days were over and gave her a happy new life. Weep for her loss, take solace in the joy you shared.
Lucy had been diagnosed with a degenerative central nervous system disorder a few months ago. When I arrived home from work she seemed to be having some trouble breathing and was gone in less than a minute, lying with her head on my lap.
I take comfort from the fact that I was there to try and help her on her way and, of course, from all your kind words.
Our furry friends are such a big part of our lives and fill our hearts. I'm sure she knows how much she was loved and I am so sorry for your families loss.
So sorry to hear about your beloved greyhound. My first grand-dog was an adopted ex racing greyhound too not dissimilar in colouring he was a Nugget too.
Only people who have pets truly understand the loss you are experiencing. They are not just animals but part of our homes and our life. We lost our cat last year and I miss her every day. Thinking of you at this time.
@graemestevens Very true. A kind of survivor's guilt. 18 months later I have a kind of 'replacement' but keep noticing my expectations are too high as no two personalities are the same. Have to keep reminding myself of all the good times.
@dkbarnett She was very gentle and loving - thank you @islambad "Luckily" we still have our other one with us, but you're right, it's not the same :( @taffy Thank you so much
I am very sorry for beeing so late seeing your sad post. It is so hard loosing one of our furry family members. And I know that Lucy meant such a lot to you. And I am sure, that you meant the world to her. Glad you could be with her.
