We took a trip to Krka National Park...it was 36 degrees and, as the saying goes, arse-wateringly hot. Far too hot for this tidy Kiwi. It really is a beautiful spot though, with over 100 square kilometres of parkland that includes a lot of board walk walkways through the shrubbery to admire the native flora and fauna, educational walks and guided tours (one of which we indulged in as we like to learn stuff from time to time) and of course the Krka Waterfalls, the largest waterfalls in Croatia and one of the most favoured swimming spots in these parts.
The clarity of the water is incredible and puts New Zealand's self proclaimed (and slightly incorrect) "clean green, 100% pure" image to shame.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
there is more than a handful of bathing beauties there. but no doubt that was the best place to be on such a day. This composition brings to mind one of those great art classics filling the whole wall of a gallery - either that, or a where's wally style picture. Either way, could stare at for ages.
Thanks all - you'll be delighted to know that I declined the offer of slipping in to my speedo and going for a dip...
@kwind It was stunning, even with all the people...
@annied Completely agree...
