goblin forest by graemestevens

goblin forest

Another shot from the Goblin Forest on the slopes of Mount Taranaki. For those of you who are remotely interested, here's a link:

https://www.newzealand.com/us/feature/goblin-forest-and-wilkies-pools/

The Goblin Forest is pretty wide spread at certain altitudes around the mountain, so we tend to visit the less well travelled parts of it on the northern slopes.

Apparently my new lens will arrive tomorrow - we eagerly await this.
Like snakes beckoning you in....

@mzzhope Thank you very much :)
@koalagardens I'll pass that on to Mother Nature - she does a bloody good job :)
@salza Thanks very much :)
@julzmaioro I like a lovely bit of bush...
@ladynoswar Thanks very much :)
@northy I've gone for the 12-50mm - the lens that died was the 14-42 so this seems like a pretty good replacement option. It's not a pancake but that doesn't bother me in the least. It certainly reads like a pretty good all rounder. https://www.photowarehouse.co.nz/shop/shop-by-product/camera-lenses-2/olympus-micro-43/olympus-12-50mm-f-3-5-6-3-ed-m-zuiko-ez-micro-4-3-lens-black/
@pdulis Thanks very much :)
@joysabin Yep...it can be a bit spooky depending on the weather

I loved the forests like this when I visited NZ 30 years ago. Breathtakingly magical. And sometimes accompanied by the little birds with yellow who flew around you eating the tiny flies. I can’t recall their names. Peewees?

@callymazoo Thanks very much - sounds like a piwakawaka, or fantail :)

Wow, as you say Mum Nature does a great job, as have you capturing this. Are there dangerous creatures, in there??
February 19th, 2020
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I hope not...we don;t really have anything dangerous in NZ...unless you count politicians...
February 19th, 2020
I have the impression that this forest is walking.
