Today was the walk for juvenile diabetes research. Our family that lives locally all traveled to the site about an hour away this morning and walked to help raise awareness and to turn in money that has been raised so far. We took the shorter 1 mile walk this year but since lots of our walkers are children from 2-13 years old we were proud to go that far. There was at least 1/2 mile of people walking 4 or 5 abreast this year and it is a very impressive sight to see, especially knowing that each group represents a child that has diabetes. Lots of the people went the further 3 mile walk and a few grownups in our group ran the 3 miles. I walked 1 mile!
