This Old House

I ran across this beautiful old house today and loved the arched window and shake siding. Arched architecture has always appealed to me and I seem to be focusing on it a bit recently.
I agree -arches in architecture are cool! Buildings like this make current builds look sorta sad and boring, huh? Nice shot!

@nyusha Thanks, Anna for pointing that out to me. I didn't see that until you suggested it and I have to agree with you

@grammyn yes, we have something similar in folk tales, for ex. "Baba Yaga", http://russiapedia.rt.com/of-russian-origin/baba-yaga/ or http://russian-crafts.com/tales/babyaga.html or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga , only the links cannot fully portray what I mean ))) Just i feel houses like these often do appear in our fairy tales)) And i liked your shot!)

@nyusha I am so happy you sent me the links and now I totally undertand you reference to the fairy tale. I agree with you and am thrilled to have captured such a multi-cultural shot!

I love arched windows. I only have 3 windows in my loft, but 1 of them is an arch. If I ever move I hope my new place has at least one too.

is that a face reflected in the window?
October 17th, 2011
@catheniale They just have more character than square ones, don't they?

@ervadanninha It is not but we could pretend couldn't we? I hadn't even noticed it.
