Just before we got to the store tonight my husband commented on how beautiful the moon was. I had been absorbed in my own thoughts and didn't see it until he mentioned it. When we got to the store I got out of the car, ran across the parking lot to a fairly decent vantage point while he hollered after me, " Are you going to wait for me?" Still running I said "No,I'm going for the shot". because that moon wasn't going to wait for me or for him to catch up. If I had even walked to get the shot I would have missed it because it rises quickly when it is on the horizon.
This is absolutely stunning, Katy. I got a little shiver when I looked at it! A beautiful moment of nature's glory captured forever. Great work, cariad!
@maggotx MAG!!! You just made my day! ;.} Thanks for the FAV. When I took the shot I hesitated because of that cloud because I wanted the full moon only but decided to go with it anyway and now am so glad I did because for me it made the shot. The color is part of what drew me to it in the first place.
@peterdegraaff Then I was comparatively lucky because aside from the running across the parking lot the most difficult thing I did was point and shoot.
I love this shot. I love to go to the spot we have found to watch the moon rise out of the water. But, this is perfect with the cloud dividing it in half.
