Family Portrait Without the Family by grammyn

Family Portrait Without the Family

This is the same photo I took on Christmas day without all the people in it. http://365project.org/grammyn/365/2011-12-25
The room seems so much larger now! ;. } The chair is one my dad made for me when I was in high school but I just recently covered it.
This is lovely. I like the light through the window and shadows on the floor

@kimfaria Thanks. I was a little disappointed it didn't show much in the original photo. There were too many people in front of it!

@nyusha Thanks, Anna. Are you all ready for Father Frost?!
January 2nd, 2012
@adobewaters Thanks,Adobe. My parents gave to me for a graduation gift in high school...and a birthday gift ....and a wedding gift. LOL We did not have lots of money so it was a sacrifice for them. I do play a little but never practice anymore so I am quite rusty.

Very pretty, I love the shadows. But you are missing the best part lol (family).
January 3rd, 2012
@myhrhelper Thank you so much,Kathy. Thanks for the follow too. Why did you decide to if I may ask? You are right about the best part being the family but if you could have been here for all the chaos you would know why it is also a great shot without them! ;~}
January 3rd, 2012
I completely understand about the chaos. I have 12 grandchildren & 3 daughters. I cleaned the house, & got it ready to my liking. 10 minutes after everyone was here - it was trashed! When our family gets together it is LOUD. Happy loud, loud kids, laughing & many conversations.

I am brand new on 365 (since Dec. 13th) and somewhat new to photography so I am learning. I look at what type of pictures people take, etc. to decide if I should follow to learn from them. After looking at your photo's I can see you have mastered some things I've never even thought about. I also connect with newer photographers since we can still learn from each other & grow.

Love the way the sun is shining in. The piano is exquisite. Love that your father made the chair, what a keepsake
January 3rd, 2012
@myhrhelper I am honored that you think I have mastered anything. LOL. Although you need no other followers I will also follow you now.

Your family sounds exactly mine too! ;~}
