For some reason the rain brought all the frogs that hibernate in our pool (because I don't clean it during the winter while it is full of leaves) to the surface. What a wonderful serenade we had last night. This is just two of the choir members
@bobfoto LOL! Show off! ;~} Although it looks like it, it may not be that. I took two others out of the pool right after this and checked to see if that was what was going on and there was no connection.
@deburahiru Not edited in any way , Deb. It went from camera to computer. The white is caused by the angle I took it and the sky reflected on the surface of the pool!
@bobfoto OK so now I think you are right. I have pulled several more out of the pool including one pair where the guy(?) had a death grip on his mate. He would NOT let go! I have never had that happen before! ;~}
@grammyn - In many frog species, the female is larger then the male and during amplexus, she will release eggs and he will then release his sperm onto the eggs, and hopefully fertilisation will occur. In some species amplexus can last several hours.
LOL!!! Love this pov and the lighting is fantastic! A winner. I took some frog pics today also . . am having camera and/or lens issues. Talk about frustrating! Love your frog, Katy. :)
This is super Katy and the white is a really fantastic. I simply can't believe it's SOOC. BTW I didn't even think of the...uhmm... shall I say the action captured in the shot until I read the commentary:-) Too funny
This is a great photo, Katy. Sounds like a great place for the frogs to hang out as they love leaves and water. Hope you got some sleep as just one can be a lot to listen to vs a pool full.
@bobfoto Seriously?! You know what amplexus is but not polliwog! All of a sudden I feel a little less inferior! ;~} It is another name for tadpole, the end result of amplexus!
@jennwearing You don't know how happy you have made me to appreciate my vision for this shot! I actually thought it was only one frog until I uploaded it so for me the "action" is a HA (happy accident)!
@darsphotos Thanks a lot ,Darlene. We always have a lot of them in the pool every spring! I actually like listening to the serenade and I was tired enough that it did't bother me a bit!
This shot would be nice in a collage with my mating flies. haha I love this and really love all the "white out" water and how the eye reflects in that dark circle in the water. Made me look, look again, and again....nicely done!
@michelle58 I am so glad you like the shot and enjoyed the banter. Lots of people just look and respond without reading any of the comments and they miss out on so much that way don't you think?

@maggotx it isn't THAT either! ;~}
and even scary a bit without the pond)))
