Get it? (bal on ey) ;~} Today we were riding around the countryside and I saw this tree against the horizon and asked my husband to stop so I could get a really cool shot. 100 yards past were I wanted to stop and where the composition was no longer what I envisioned he stopped. This is what I shot instead!
I got it immediately... no surprise... great (or weird!) minds and all that... :) I have many a shot that was not quite what I envisioned because Marvin is not able to stop on a dime when we are driving down the road and I say "Stop!" Occasionally we will back up, but it depends on the road... traffic or hills or curves or narrow shoulders often prevent that. I like this composition, so even if it wasn't what you intended it's still good. The fence rail and the horizon are level, the tree is off to one side and the cow is posing very nicely for you. I also like the trees along the horizon line. Well done! :)
Yes ... I got it!! LOL Great capture....my husband reacts the same way many times. Sometimes it's way too late. lol However, you did get a great composition ... love the simple look of this. Just the little tree and that great bull!
@marilyn Too kind as always to Phil AND to me! ;~} Levelness is thanks to microsoft (because I am always a little off! ) and the cow is a bull (but maybe not since I can't really tell in that position) Anyway ......thanks again!
@karenann I'm so glad you got it. I thought it was perfect for the shot! In his defense we were traveling with the four dogs and to stop on a dime would have thrown them all over the place and there was traffic behind him and really no place to stop. He is good about going back too if it is feasible so I really shouldn't complain!
Too funny, Katy. What a fun photo of this one bull in the bit of shade of this tree. It was meant to be, stopping later than you wanted to. Next time you drive and stop when you want to or get a shot like this that I really like.
OK I have to admit that I didn't get the title but we don't really use the word "baloney" in Australia unless someone is talking "a load of baloney". The photo is great with the bull popping out of the shadow
@jennwearing I appreciate you honesty! ;~} that is how we use it here too. I thought it was a load of "baloney" that I missed the shot I wanted! Glad you like it ! Thanks!
this might have turned out better than what you were intending to shoot.
