The obligatory shot. I went to a place that would give a terrific unobstructed view but the low cloud layer prevented a perfect shot and there were no opportunities for an object in the foreground to give perspective to its size!
LUCKY YOU...we had horribly overcast skies ALL day...Boo....I had planned to have dinner with my wife down the shore and photograph the moonrise....Alas, no dinner out and no Moon....nice shot katy...
Zowie ... you are the "Queen of Moon shots!" This is just beautiful and I love that cloud in the photo ... a FAV for me, Katy. We're so doggone overcast here, that I don't think we'll even see anything.
@karenann Oh,KarenAnn! you are so kind! thank you so much. I feel there will be far better shots than this one posted tonight but I am so glad you like mine! Thanks for the FAV!
@marilyn Truthfully the ones without clouds were less interesting to me. After a while a moon is moon is a moon! I had nothing that showed how big it was because it had to rise above the clouds to be seen and by then it was just a moon! Thanks for the moniker!
I know what you mean about wanting a hill or trees as foreground...I love those shots. I'd like to try getting my niece Erin to pose on a hill and "hold" the moon in her hands like some shots I've seen. but we will have to find the right place. This is very pretty even if you did not get to show how huge it was in relation to something!
@kimfaria Thanks a bunch,Kim. Most of mine didn't turn out very will either. There was a lot of haze and clouds in the beginning and after it rose above that it was just an ordinary moon to me!
