I always have a quick debate with myself when I see a new bird at the feeder. Do I have time to get the camera or not? A second's pause and run for it. Hurry quietly back to the window setting the camera on the way. Drat! The bird is gone! Well, at least I go to see it if not get a shot of it! Oh, wait there it is if only it would turn around so I don't have just its backside. Can I get the camera focused in time before it moves again? Eureka!
Ta-da! May not be the best shot, but it is certainly not a bad one... and it's a beautiful bird, so I am glad you shared it! And the composition is really good! :)
Oh, I love Blue Jays. We don't have them in Costa Rica, so when I moved to the US and met them, it was love at first sight. Glad you made it on time for the picture.
I have that exact same problem. I have a little fountain near my window where a blackbird washes himself. Every time I pick up my camera he flies away...drat! I'll catch him someday. Congrats on your capture, a beautiful bird!
@ruthmouch LOL! I am trying to improve my story skills! A very good friend of my always has a great story to accompany her shots! ;~} Thanks so much, Ruth!
Nice close up and such a beautiful shot of this blue jay, Katy. I wish the birds would wait for me so now I take my camera outside with me. Hey, thought you kept your camera attached to you all of the time. lol
