Yesterday my mother turned 87 and today the Queen of England did the same. I mentioned it to my mom and she said she doubted the Queen knew who she was. She went on to say the Queen had never wished her Happy Birthday or asked her to celebrate with her so she was not going to send the Queen birthday wishes either. I told her that was petty. We had a good laugh about that. Best wishes to BOTH grand ladies.
Happy birthday to your mother and tell her if she reached 100 and lived in England she would receive a birthday card from the Queen (true story) ...and as for the Queen herself..."Gaaawd bless yer Ma'am" (rhymes with ham) :D
@nyusha Anna...............Anna? I seem to remember someone named Anna! ;~} So good to hear from you again. I am so glad you like the shot. Thanks for the wishes for my mom too.
@grammyn I am so glad I found this hobby...I wish I had found it before my mom died. I think she would have been so tickled to see some of the nature photos I do. Oh well.. maybe she can see... :))
@nyusha LOL! don't give it a second thought! I am happy to hear from you whenever you can get here. Sorry about your notebook. I do miss your beautiful photographs.
Another beautiful flower photo. The DOF is delightful. Happy belated birthday to your Mum. Not sure why, but we get our Public Holiday for the Queens birthday in October!
@onie I knew you didn't celebrate on her birthday and have just discovered it is celebrated on several different days in many different areas. The public celebration of a monarch's birthday other than the actual date started with Edward VII when he decided to celebrate his November birthday in the summer I have just learned. From there on it was probably a matter of convenience or a way to get another day off somehow.
Thanks for the good wishes and the kind words.
This is a very beautiful shot with a beautiful background.
Congrats to your mother!)
Thanks for the good wishes and the kind words.
Belated Happy Birthday to Katy's mother.
