I have been trying to capture a heron on my dog walks early but as soon as I get anywhere close, even with a zoom, it languidly takes to the air...gone. One day I'll get it! Fab shot for you, well done!
@silverlight I tried for a year before i got anywhere near one. this one isn't that close either and considering I was on a moving boat I am pleased with it!
@bobfoto Cranes are often confused with herons I am told but I am reasonably certain this is some kind of heron. Probably a little blue heron but I am not smart enough to tell the difference
