@jankoos I was trying to remember who didn't like bug pictures and how to post a warning about it but came up empty on both counts! I thank you for looking anyway and for the comment. ;~}
@grammyn - Oh I love to look - LOL - like a little kid who is scared but can't stop peeking. We have an orb spider outside the patio door and I have been observing her and watching as she has blossomed from a skinny thing to one who is quite plump. As long as she is outside.........
wow, amazing find..... "never' seen anything like this.... to echo some of the comments....yes, straight out of star wars!! must be alien! what planet do you live on? :)
@jankoos Ok then you aren't the one. someone has a fear and can't even look bu tI can't remember who it is. I find them fascinating , especially when they look so weird!
@silverlight Thanks so much, Cheryl. I agree it looks better on the black although I didn't think of it until you mentioned it! LOL! It is a scary looking face indeed.
Great shot but what a creepy looking spider. I love Leslie's description of this spider, got a great laugh. Were you under this spider or what? You are one brave person. Would make a super creepy mask for sure. I just noticed the colors on the web, kind of rainbow like. FAV
@darsphotos Thanks, Darlene. good eye to see the rainbow on the web. The light on it was the other reason I chose this shot. I was sitting on a wall near the web and a little below it. He wasn't very big and l imagine this is some kind of camouflage on his back to make him appear bigger.
A hockey mask...like Friday the 13 th movie! This is called a Spined Micanthra or something close to that. I have shot them a time or two and googled them for ID....GREAT spider pic, Katy!
Oh I'm confused, I don't know if I should scream EEEKKK or WOW is that cool. I had no idea a spider could look like that. You always amaze me with your photography - you need to get one of these on a tomato.
