Shortly after my accident MaryBeth sent me a care package with a camera ornament for my Christmas tree, this little action figure minion from the movie Despicable Me and the movie, The Girl With a Pearl Earring.
We saw Vermeer's painting with the same name when we got together last summer but we fell asleep before we could watch more than a few minutes of the movie! She generously sent it to me and this cold winter day was the perfect time for me to watch it. When Stu saw me loading it he climbed up to watch too!! What a perfect day made possible by such a great friend. Thanks, MaryBeth.
@darylo@maggiemae@gerry@kbird61 thanks for such quick responses. Please take a second to read the description I was typing while you were responding. Because of my vision problems I have to load the picture on my computer and then run to the iPad set up downstairs to write anything. Thanks so much for your nice comments.
Oh, I think Stu might be a bit smitten with The Girl! I am so glad you got to watch it! I also watched TV /movies all day...just posted my pic for the day. Just a snapshot from the couch. It is good to see you getting better and stronger every day. Btw...why is it easier to type on the iPad compared to the computer?
@espyetta I loved it and it was the perfect way to spend the day. The only thing that would have made it better would be if you had been here with me!
I don' know how to type and right now can only use one hand. I can't bend well enough to see the computer keyboard but the iPad sits on the table and I have it large enough to see the letters easily and only need to use one finger. It is less slow going than using the computer for me!
@grammyn Katy you can get Dragon app for your iPad. You speak to it and it converts your message to text. Then you touch and pull your finger across the text, and press the arrow pointing down at paper icon at upper right. Then choose copy. Then open 365 back up and tap on comments area and choose paste. I just tried it. If you were going to type a long comment, it might work for you. The only issues are that you have to swap back and forth between Dragon app and 365. And you need to be able to see that "button" that copies.
Do you have an iPad 1 or 2? Or an iPad 3? If you have an IPad 3 it has a dictation setting under Accessibility. It gives you a "key" with a microphone on the keyboard. You could just press it and talk ...it changes it to text. And you would not have to get out of 365. I have that feature on my iPhone but not my iPad.
@grammyn oh...and your iPad can read to you ...just select the text and then a pop up menu comes up and choose "speak text" but you have to go into settings maybe to set it to do this
There's something so very stylish about this shot... Nicely done! And do chk out the accessibility features on your iPad... I typed this in my iPhone, but I could have dictated it... I am sure later versions of the iPad would have this feature on the keyboard as well...
