The Pruner by grammyn

The Pruner

Between bouts of rain we had some nice weather and my husband started working on our fruit trees.
Oh how cool that you have fruit trees!Great candid portrait of hubby!

Nice composition and perspective for your personal primer. He practice first with your cast... LOL.

Nice shot. I'm envious of your fruit trees. Also wish my husband would get out in the yard! In all fairness, he's working on taxes...
January 14th, 2014
Nice capture Katy.
January 14th, 2014
Ah is this the man behind the camera? We had fruit trees in my childhood home - just apples and pears but they were nice to have;
January 14th, 2014
Nice job! We haven't started on ours yet!
January 14th, 2014
Oooh, I do like hubby's lovely silver hair! Great candid shot, Katy!
January 14th, 2014
@mzzhope Thanks, Hope. I am glad you like it!
January 15th, 2014
A good idea to start early then it won't interfere with the early blooms
January 15th, 2014
It was warm like spring today, wasn't it? Be careful working!
January 15th, 2014
We had all different kinds of fruit trees growing...apple, pear, peach, plum an cherry! We have some crab apple trees now, but that's it. They are a lot of work, but I would love to have some on our property! I loved the feeling of climbing a tree and picking my own snack as a kid!

Aww, it's the hubby! Sweet. They're always so attractive when they're working on the home front, right?
January 15th, 2014
@michaelelliott Honored by the visit, Michael !! Thanks a bunch.
January 15th, 2014
@anazad511 Thanks, Ana. No!! I wouldn't let him NEAR me with that !! (;
January 15th, 2014
@kbird61 @kiwiflora Thanks so much.
January 15th, 2014
@eudora Thanks, Diane. This is his first attempt so I worry a bit if they will survive! (;
January 15th, 2014
@claireuk It is. These are pear and nectarine.
January 15th, 2014
@kwiksilver Very nice of you to say, Gillian.
January 15th, 2014
@digitalrn Right and it can start early here!
January 15th, 2014
@espyetta It was a nice day and I am watching NOT working!! (;
January 15th, 2014
@luvmynynix I grew up around them too and know what you mean about picking your own snack!
January 15th, 2014
@m9f9l Lol. You got that right! Thanks, Mary.
January 15th, 2014
Good catch!...aaahhhhhh fruit trees....nice! and it looks as if you were out in the garden making sure he did a good job!!!
January 15th, 2014
Do you not get snow in your parts of the states?
January 15th, 2014
@bobfoto
Just when the cable goes out on the tv.
January 16th, 2014
@prn - that's good. Pruning too early and getting a frost or a snowfall could be damaging to the trees.
January 16th, 2014
@ruthmouch I was actually inside watching him. ..........making sure he did a good job! (;
January 17th, 2014
@bobfoto Just a few years ago we had 27 C in February. It is a bit unusual but freezing temperatures are generally gone by this time of year.
January 17th, 2014
@grammyn - That sounds quite sensible. (To have the snow gone by mid-January)
January 17th, 2014
@bobfoto We have no snow either, Jason. Just cold
January 17th, 2014
Nice shot and he has to keep those trees pruned so you have fruit when it is time. You are so lucky to have each other, Katy. We have been in the low 70's for a few days and more of the same to come with no rain in our forecast and officially in a drought as of today. Doing a rain dance.
January 18th, 2014
@grammyn - then you must live in Florida or California. Or Hawaii. The only three non-snow states I know of.
January 18th, 2014
@darsphotos I have been hearing about your drought. I hope things ease up soon.
January 18th, 2014
@bobfoto Alabama seldom gets snow althought the northern part of the state will every now and then. Usually it doesn't stick but if it does EVERYTHING shuts down because they don't know how to deal with it and don't have the resources to either.
January 18th, 2014
Go, Phil! Nice candid... :)
January 18th, 2014
@marilyn I hope they live! (; thanks.
January 18th, 2014
@grammyn - What about Texas? Does it snow there?
January 18th, 2014
@bobfoto Yes in places but I am not sure if it snows every year or not
January 19th, 2014
@grammyn - always learning I is.
January 20th, 2014
@bobfoto That's a good thing!
