I feel so sorry for the birds that have traveled south this winter. It IS warmer than points north but we are having a good bit of colder than normal weather too. You can tell because they are all puffed up in the mornings to stay warm.
KaBOOM! This is an explosion of red! I know you have your bird window there, but don't they get spooked off by movements in the house? Mine seem to. This is a rare cardinal close up! Hard to get one as they are crafty and very aware .....fav
@espyetta Thanks so much, MB. Sometimes they get spooked but it depends on how far they are from the window. Cardinals sit still less than some of the other birds so it IS difficult to get the camera up, ISO set, focus adjusted and zoom set before they disappear from the viewfinder. Challenge met this time! (;
Beautiful shot, Katy! I feel sorry for the birds, too. During our recent sleet storm I also worried about all the stray dogs and cats out there.... I think in our community, most of the homeless people can find a place to sleep as one of the local shelters has a policy of taking anyone who comes before a certain time in freezing weather.
@eudora Thanks a bunch. We don't have homeless that I know of and we didn't get your sleet but we probably do have stray animals that I never thought about before.
OMG, this is such an awesome close up photo, Katy. Love the detail and color. FAV Still no rain and none in our forecast. Low 30's in the mornings and close to 80 some days but mostly around 75. We have not had many birds around. Nice that you have your feeder outside your window to see. FAV
Thanks so much ,Cathy for that. So nice of you!
Thanks for the enthusiasm and the FAV!
