Ingredients...Of a Different Kind

One of my granddaughters wears an insulin pump. My job is to keep her supplied with bags she can wear to hold it. I spent a good part of today assembling the "ingredients" so she may have some new ones that match some of her clothes.

I'm glad mom taught me how to sew dad♥
So sad she must take insulin. So wonderful of you to do this for her.

How cool she has all sort of colors to mix and match. Darn that diabetes!

What a great Grandma! I'm sure it's not fun or pleasant for her to have to carry that around, but your bag probably makes it better.

And you sew so well - she will be proud to wear these bags which are so necessary!

@bill_fe @dyanstevens @tunia @dawnee @juliedduncan @olivetreeann @maggiemae @kandkids @mcsiegle @mcsiegle @kwiksilver Thank you one and all for your kind comments about my grandaughter and my gift to her. She has been dealing with it for 6 years now and we are ever hopeful an artificial pancreas will put an end to her ordeal. She is a real trooper though and doesn't let it slow her down much at all. I am a blessed grammy to be able to help out in this way.

You are wonderful! Great idea!

Wonderful shot of a wonderful endeavor. One of the Circus Stars who lives in Sarasota wears and insulin pump except when she is performing her act. She is an international star aerialist, Dolly Jacobs, daughter of Lou Jacobs the clown.

What a wonderful idea--and you are a wonderful grammyn to make the bags in such pretty fabrics. Hoping for a cure. . . .

What a great idea and wonderful that you can do this for her. I am sure she appreciates it. Love your fabric. Sorry she has to be on insulin. Not an easy thing to deal with.

@summerfield it could be but not this time!
@eudora I can't really claim credit for the idea. My daughter showed them to me and asked me to make her some but of course I love doing that for them thank you
@darsphotos she is very excited to get some new ones whenever I make them for her. She's been dealing with diabetes for several years now so it's become a way of life for her

@grammyn It is a tough way of life though. My sister's boyfriend has been dealing with it since he was 20 and today is 55. He needs a kidney and my sister will donate into the program at UCSF for someone in need and in turn he will get a kidney from a donor like my sister within hopefully 6 months and not too much more time.
