Wonderful composition. Looks like a famous painting. Can’t remeber name and artist but I believe is was in the last couple hundred years. Impressionist I think. Anyway, great composition and interesting choice to do b&w
Awesome shot! It is so peaceful with the still water and refectionsl--I envy that. Here, thousands of people go down to the Mississippi River levee and sometimes there is violence. We stayed home!
i quite enjoyed going near the waters and waiting for the fireworks. my friend virginia and i had a good catching up whilst waiting for about 45 minutes. the best thing was that although it seemed the whole city of hamilton descended on to that park, at least there was a part of the park that was not so crowded. nice candid street shot. aces!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond@maggiemae@lisahans@louannwarren@Dawn@bill_fe@eudora@henrir@summerfield thank you so much for your appreciation of this shot and that I used B&W. I debated with myself whether to leave it in color or not. Based on your response I am glad I decided not to. Our actual fireworks were in the football stadium about a mile away but visible from this spot where there is far less traffic. We got there a little early and it did fill up but not too much. I had the same idea Lisa but couldn't figure it out either. Thanks again everyone!
Good shot- I think it was a good choice to put it in black and white- although I'm sure the color looked fine too. Had to laugh though- what would the next generation do with down time without their cell phones?!
@olivetreeann Sometimes I feel the same way about those devices! Thanks for the support of black-and-white. I did like it in color too so that’s why it was a rough choice for me. Thanks too for the link to the photo. I think you might be right
@lisahans @grammyn Are you thinking of "Christina's World" by Andrew Wyeth? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina%27s_World
@darsphotos thanks Darlene. I appreciate that
