Neglected

I am ashamed to admit this is a scene from my yard. Slowly catching up on two years of neglect because of school until the heat of summer forced me back indoors for all but the bare necessities. On the plus side the Grand Chap cut two branches off a very high tree for me today, even though he didn't want to, and is going to bed tonight as my hero for making that sacrifice!
Proud to do it for you ♥️

It won't be long before the days are perfect for your yard work. Bravo to the hero for his sacrificial love today. My hero snaked my shower drain last week when all he wanted to do was sit down and do nothing. Aren't we blessed?!

Aww, one day at the time. I neglect my yard in the summer, too hot.

Love the way the greenery ties it together. Makes a lovely still life.

Lots of lovely textures and rust there, bless your hero for making your day.

Nicely captured - my back patio area was in a similar shape for many years - it's better now, but I need to pull some weeds very soon!

I like that intersting vine even though I know I wouldn't want it. I have a better excuse for neglect. I just don't want to do it.

Different variety of greenery, but looks so familiar. @dutchothotmailcom is right — one day at a time. Hooray for the hero!

@prn I really appreciate your sacrifice
@olivetreeann i am definitely looking forward to those cooler days! Yes we are
@dutchothotmailcom I can only imagine how hot is it where you are because you are even further south than I am! Thanks for that understanding!
@shutterbug49 That is so nice of you! Thanks a lot!
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. I thought there might be enough interesting things to see to make it work! I told him more than once how grateful I was
@linnypinny Thanks bunches. We can work on getting thing in shape together now Lin!
@randystreat LOL I get that especially this time of year! The vine is great for hummingbirds but will take over if allowed to
@mcsiegle if I remember I will be able to tell you what it is tomorrow! I will ask my neighbor. I am taking one day at a time but the heat slows me way down. The hero helps a lot though

@mcsiegle Kathy says it is called a hummingbird vine (stands to reason since it attracts hummingbirds!) so I am going to go with that!

i kind of like the leaves of those green plants. careful around there though as i see real big brads.
September 12th, 2020
@summerfield those brads were used to hold together a set of stairs which has mostly rotted away. I seldom go there but thanks for the warning.
