The Grand Chap was a little hesitant but very happy to have the pins removed today. Now he can start therapy. We feel very blessed that he will be able to have almost full use of his hand again.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond sorry? Me too @olivetreeann I realized it was difficult to tell how severe it is when it was all bandaged up! Thanks for those prayers because it is making a difference @taffy It has been an interesting journey. Sorry and thank you @dutchothotmailcom I really appreciate that Esther and thank you @juliedduncan LOL! Sorry Julie and thanks @summerfield sorry about the goosebumps and you can be assured I have told him to stay away from all things sharp for a while! Thank you. The pliers are what they used to pull the pins out. @wyomingsis AMEN! @maggiemae I think so too MM! Each day gets better and better though as you said @tinley23 Thanks Lesley. He is really very lucky! @prn Awww so nice of you @linnypinny Thank you so much Lin. We are headed in that direction! @madamelucy Thank you Terri! I hope so too. It is now a matter of getting dexterity and strength back. @shutterbug49 I feel very lucky to live in a country where this kind of repair is possible Thanks Debbie @koalagardens Isn't it though? We are very lucky @casablanca So very nice of you and I really appreciate that! @ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana. It is a matter of time and patience now! @tunia sorry about that but I wanted to get the whole thing documented!
That pin in the end of the finger makes me cringe! Tell the Grand Chap to faithfully do his therapy for the maximum return to full use! Marvin wants to know if he got to keep the pliers! 😂
@randystreat He is really doing very well Thank you so much @marilyn LOL! We got to keep the pins but not the pliers! Today was his first day of therapy and I feel he will do it faithfully
@pasadenarose Wow! That is taking you back a long ways! He was working in his woodshop and a tool bucket and cut his hand. It could’ve been so much worse because it jumped up across his arm to that fortunately his shirt clogged it up and it did not do any more damage. He is definitely lucky to have his hand and it will still work after he gets done with PT
Oh no.
I can't imagine how terrifying that was for you both. But so lucky that he will still be able to use his hand after all is said and done.
I am always so amazed and grateful for the miracles that surgeons perform on a daily basis.
@pasadenarose It wasn't fun but it is almost a way of life lately for him! We are grateful it wasn't as serious as it could have been and very aware of the blessing of living in a place where modern medicine is so available and doctors are so skilled

I had the very best caretaker in the world. I admit I’m not a very good patient so she was a blessing to me.

I don't know the back story, but judging from this pic, I'd say he's lucky to still have all his fingers!
It's taking me back to the days when you were in the halo. Yikes!
