We Call Them Naked Ladies

It rained most of the day today and I decided to shoot from my covered patio so you get this shot of red spider lilies in my yard.
"Although unrelated to lilies itself, this red-flower-producing variety in the amaryllis family is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful garden plants in the world. In early autumn, the plants start flowering. Their stalks, which can reach up to 3 feet high, become laden with bright red flowers that are shaped like a funnel. Although they put up an amazing floral show, the spider lilies last for around ten days only."
Ten days to shine- seems short but they certainly make the most of it with their bright red flowers. I like how they stand out against the wood in the background. good shot!

So much wonderful going on here! The 3-4 different stages of blooming. The changing colors on the vine leaves. The many textures of the retaining wall. The tiny stems on the lower left. And those small, bright green leaves that almost had me believing it was a four-leaf clover. I’m trying to reconcile the white trellis into the photo, but to my eyes it’s a bit of a distraction. 🤷‍♀️

Love them on that textured background.

@olivetreeann I always look forward to seeing them Thanks Ann
@louannwarren Thank you so much!
@marilyn You have such a gift for seeing all the detail in a photo and expressiing your appreciation for it! I have to confess I didn't see most of that until you mentioned it! At your suggestion I eliminated the trellis. When I took the photo it was with a wider angle and the trelles added a bit to it but I questioned whether to keep it or not when I cropped it down. Thanks as always for your discerning eye!
@shutterbug49 I am so glad you do Debbie, I thought it made them stand out just a bit
