High Hopes

This banana spider has a web about 15 feet/4.5 metersin the air hoping something will come along and get caught in it. Yesterday we watched him devour a moth....today so far nothing. There appears to be a whole family of them up there
Two songs with the title High Hopes:
Doris Day

and Panic at the Disco which was my theme song and mantra recently when I went back to college for my degree

They look suspicious to me :-)

We have two spiders (I think they're orb weavers) flanking the front door. One got a lantern fly on Sunday! Nice high-key work.

Interesting to see that. I don’t see any sign of the moth now.

Wonderful high key of this little family.

A necessarily quick glance leaves me unable to comment on this shot! 🤷‍♀️

Uhhh... this is not something I would want to watch. I would have my hose out and hope they drift off to the neighbor's house.....😁💦🕷️🕸️

@joemuli Thanks so much Joe. This is actually an orb weaver spider #1 in this article and I don't think they are found in bananas at all. https://storyteller.travel/banana-spider/
@tunia I know. their webs are notorious for being very strong

I like the bright exposure so they look like silhouettes.
