Inside Out

vintage 1985 Kodak instant camera that has been in my closet for decades. It belonged to my mother. I wonder if there is still film available?
if you look on craig list, you might find the cartridge film for it. you know you're going to make jackie crazy with that white background.

A quick review on Google...you'll be lucky to find some. But an interesting look at the inside of the camera. Not so many moving parts. No wonder a hole in a piece of cardboard works.

How fascinating and a memory of seeing inside a camera like this when I was a child and helping to put the film in. I can remember the smell.

Very cool shot of the innards of a Polaroid-style camera! Even cooler that it was mom’s! 💖

@summerfield @Dawn @30pics4jackiesdiamond @joansmor @ludwigsdiana @jacqbb @randystreat @montserrat @wakelys @marilyn @phil_howcroft Thank you so much for all your interesting comments. This is a Kodak camera and there was a patent dispute by Polaroid about it so they are no longer allowed to make them or the film for them. According to Reddit, "Kodak entered the instant film market in 1976 and were promptly sued by Polaroid, who the courts determined had the sole right to produce instant film products in the United States at the time. Kodak was forced to stop production of all instant film products in 1986.

Today, there is no suitable film that fits any Kodak instant camera, and there hasn't been for a long time, meaning all old stock will have degraded to be unusable by this point." So I will probably never get any pictures from this camera

I love how you made the picture of a retro camera black and white. Very fitting.

Nice look at the "innards". If you want to give it a home, I know a place that displays all kinds of vintage cameras- an Americana museum of sorts. I have some odds and ends of my father's camera that I'm going to send there when I put a few more things together for them. (It's called Bill's Old Bike Barn and Museum- in Bloomsburg- I think- PA if you want to check it out). Anyway- there probably is film out there somewhere- but- finding it is impossible. Peter DeGraff was using expired and old film for a long time and he was getting some very interesting results from it!

@scoobylou I am so glad you noticed that and like it. I couldn't decide if it would be better or not
@madamelucy This definitely qualifies. Thanks Terri
@kjarn I think so too but it would be better if I coud use it
@olivetreeann thanks for that info Ann. I imagine there are lots of these available since they were involved in a patent suit and no longer allowed to be made and that impacted the film production as well. I think Peter is STILL using expred film. He must have a huge cache or a great pipeline for it
