Lipstick Reprise

A couple of comments yesterday made me wish I had done my photo differently so I tried it today focusing on the lipstick instead of me. Then I decided to make it B&W which I always forget to do also. I am not sure which I like better. What do you think?
A great idea to try - the focus is definitely more on the lipstick

100% improvement imho!

Nice. I think these are nice changes.

I like this one too. Love your smile.

You are good at smiling at the camera - when I try to smile, it looks more like a grimace!

Fab focus....and @maggiemae same here 😁

Great self portrait!

Hard to choose between the two as they are so different. Just when I think I like one better I take a look at the other one and change my mind. 🤷‍♀️ I know you are not surprised by my difficulty choosing! 😂

it works well both ways, i.e., i like both. aces!
January 16th, 2023
I like them both but I think this one is far more artistic -- not a selfie but storytelling. B&W heightens the artistic nature as well. Wonderful comparison for us to see!

Cool shot

Not a fan of b/w Katy, but I love this version too.
January 16th, 2023
Yes this one is better in its way, perhaps on feb14 you could do a flash of red selective colour version??

The lipstick is the star of the show in this one.

You look so happy

Great smile - I like in b&w with the lipstick feature

I like this one too. Has a completely different feel with the focus on the lipstick. Like your smile!

January 17th, 2023
@myhrhelper thank you Kathy. It is such a challenge to hold a decent smile while trying to get the focus and Composition right in a mirror.
January 17th, 2023
This is a little more creative and I like the use of b&w. Well done.

Hi Katy, the photo with the bubble wrap was from a magazine.I used it as my props for the experiment..I know it’s not my photo but the idea and concept is my own.. so you can experiment it even without a model or use your own photo, print it out in large format ( preferably in black& white)and cover it with the bubble,if you don’t have the bubble use Saran Wrap, just wrinkle it..hope this will help and inspire you.. I can’t wait to see it..👌🥰❤️ @grammyn

Or if you don’t want to print ….just enlarge the size of photo in your computer screen, then use the plastic to cover the image..and shoot— enjoy!❤️🥰

@joemuli Gee, thanks, Joe! I really appreciate the information and will give it a try. I’m not sure when though because I’m going to be doing black and white this coming month and there are some prompts that I may have to follow for that.
