"Squashes are considered to be fruits because they contain seeds and develop from the flower-producing part of a plant. However, because they’re more savory than sweet, most people cook and prepare them like they’re vegetables." Therefore, I am entering this in the minimal challenge of vegetable.
Please do not expect this squash to travel the same path as the banana peel!
Brown sugar and butter bring out the fruit in a squash. So does apple juice or apples. But I eat as a vegetable. Lord knows I need all the help I can get to have vegetables in my diet.
I like to scoop out the seeds and goo and put maple syrup, pecans or walnuts, and dried cranberries in there before I bake it. Nicely captured and glad it's going to be eaten before it turns brown! (o;
@randystreat LOL great ideas and this one is so sweet it really doesn't need anything exrtra. Oh nice clean photo of this. I am always a rebel regarding that topic. I still consider cucumbers, tomatoes, squash veggies. If it can’t be turned into a sweet pie it’s not a fruit. That’s my official nonofficial stance, but I won’t start a war on the topic lol.
@myhrhelper I tend to agree with you about that, however, my rules oriented side demands. I at least give credit to the topic. Thanks for your kind comments, Kathy.
