Skyward

My first shot for the film challenge this month. It is amazing to me the differences but my film camera is only a P&S. I struggled to shoot a whole month in just a few days. Some will be OK, some will not be and I haven't decided if I will post them all or not yet but they will all be in this album

Kodak 35mm ISO400
this is lovely! i remember dragging my feet to go from film to digital.... seems ages ago!!! nice job!

@kimfaria Wow,Kim. thanks so much. I was the same way and in just a few short months I am totally into the convenience of digital. It helps that my camera now is a much nicer one than my film camera is.;~}

Forgot to comment on the film part... Congrats on doing the film challenge... do you feel like it took you back to your roots? I am too totally digital to even desire to do film again... maybe because I am more techy than photographer... :)

@marilyn Thanks for your kind words. It is a little different using film than I remembered. I have been on digital solidly for the last 6 months so i'm am much more comfortable with it. Being able to see and delete immediately is nice. It has been a little difficult to take a months worth of shots in only a few days to satisfy the "recently taken" requirement but mostly I am comfortable with it. Of course I only have a P&S so that may have something to do with it too.

Looks like it could be a church bulletin cover! Nice one, Katy.

good for you! In my opinion, you should post them all. If there is something you didn't like about them, want to know how to prevent something from occurring, or are just plain proud of it, post it! We are all here to help each other.

Oh, and just because it is a P&S film camera should never take away from what they can do. Let's see em!

@cluvlj Thanks for your encouragement. All my vacation pictures for years were in film while my sisters used digital. I do OK with it but I felt pressured to get the whole month in just a few days so there are some very similar shots that I wondered about posting BECAUSE they are so similar. I may mix them up a bit. Still, thanks for the support.

Hey, point and shoots are cool too, what do you have, and what film you shooting with here? Nice shot.

@chewyteeth The camera is in the tag but I forgot the film! I think it was Kodak 35mm 400ISO. I like P&S but after shooting with my new camera I know a film camera with some of those other features can get some better shots like macro.

@chewyteeth Thanks, Dave. I got so rattled by the technical stuff I totally forgot to thanks you for the nice comment.

@debsphotos - I totally agree! It *does* look like a church bulletin! It's very soft and natural. Nice shot, Katy! I'm trying to remember when the last time was that I had a film camera. It's great that you're doing this challenge!
