....that is what Mardi Gras translates into. The last day before the Lenten season starts. For the Southerners in this area there are lots of parades and parties leading up to this day. Laissez le bons temps rouler means let the good times roll and we hear a lot of that as well. Tomorrow starts six weeks of fasting and sacrifice before Easter so tonight.........
O.K. I'll admit it . . I'm confused. Do you live in New Orleans, Katy?!! Love this shot! Very celebratory and wonderful lighting. I'm here freezing in Michigan and have to go out and shoot more photos today. But I guess that we can ALL "Let the good times roll!" Right?!! :)
@karenann No ma'am I live in Alabama but Mobile has the second largest celebration in the country and it is said that it is much more family oriented than the one in New Orleans Thanks so ,much for you kind words and stay warm today! ;~}
@marilyn It is part of my film challenge. Thanks so much. I took it the day after your birthday and I did plan a little ahead for it! I had seen the statue downtown on another shoot and remembered it so went back to catch it for today! Every now and then I do well!
Yes, Lent begins tomorrow. I have always pondered giving up Lent for Lent. I don't think that would go over too well. I haven't shot with my Digital camera since January. I wonder if I can pass that one off to my Pastor and tell him I got an early start on Lent.
