Green Eyed Lady

To tell the truth that is an assumption! I didn't check! the only way I can tell for sure is if...........well never mind. Let's just go with the assumption! It goes best with the song lyrics!
Fabulous capture! The eye detail is amazing and, as usual, the composition is superb... :)

@silverlight Thanks, Cheryl! If I had cropped it so the nose was out of the picture it might have passed for an alligator!

@anazad511 LOL! Thanks a bunch! I have an idea it was a female because they are usually larger and she was quite big.

Wow, I was so fixated on that one eye looking toward the camera, that I didn't realize how much the eyes BULGE. The reflection in the water of that eye is amazing. Great subtle ripples all around the frog.

You mentioned this lady was rescued from a pool? And it sounds like you have more than one. Do you have a pond on your property? Yeah, I'm nosy. LOL Actually, just curious. :-)

@pasadenarose Thanks for all the things you noticed about this shot! When you see them up close those eyes are really much more noticeable aren't they?

Our swimming pool is a pond during the winter. (confession) We have trees around it and I never get all the leaves out in the fall so we always have frogs and dirty water all winter! Every spring I finish cleaning it out which includes getting all the frogs out and trying to save them before I shock it! I counted them one year and there were 60 of them! I also have a little pond that I put them in which is man made.

So you offer frogs a winter home and then give the pool a shock????? Never having owned a pool I have no idea what's going on!!!!
Absolutely fab shot!!!!! Better even than mating frogs!!! Amazing detail, the ripples are superb and that reflected eye totally amazing!

@ruthmouch LOL! where to start? I don't really "offer" the pool it just sort of happens because of my sloth! In the spring then to get it ready I have to put LOTS of chlorine in the pool which is called shock. It kills the algae and bacteria in the water and purifies it so it is OK to swim in.
So glad you like and approve of the shot! I would never have guessed you would like it more than the amplexus shot I COULD have posted! ;~}

I love the textures in this! Smooth water, rough skin, ripple in the water! All the shades of brown too! Fav! What is the round thing in the reflection next to his face? Excuse me...HER FACE? Hha

@espyetta Thanks, MB! I think it is her eye reflected in the water
