I think it's a Golden Silk Orbweaver - my son took a picture of one in the midwest somewhere last year - it was HUGE but they are apparently harmless.

I have never seen one like this! His legs are cool too...they have this fat fuzzy parts on each one. I want to try to look up what this is. I am not sure.
