Turning Bowls by grammyn

Turning Bowls

I was inspired "telepathically" by @espyetta to shoot turning bowls. I thought she said burning coals, hence my shot in my Everything Else album today. http://365project.org/grammyn/everything-else
Now I think I have it right! ;~}
What a great shot. Not sure how you did it.

Struggling as I am with manual, I won't EVEN ask how you did this amazing photo. Stunning. :)

Inquiring minds want to know! How DID you do this? :) FANTASTIC shot!

Wahoo! Fantastic shot! :)

@jennabug Thank you so much.
January 30th, 2012
@marilyn Yay! Thanks!!! I have missed you. Everything OK?
January 30th, 2012
Now I know what you meant by you had to go set up a shot. Good job!
January 30th, 2012
@after12 Thanks. ;~}

So creative!
January 30th, 2012
@trumpetman Thanks,Mike. All the credit goes to @espyetta! ;~}

SPILL the secret!!! This is cool
January 30th, 2012
I know some of the new cameras have this capabiility. I was watching a presentation of one on HSN (Home Shopping Network) where you take multiple shots and the camera puts them together. Is that it???
It's really a cool effect no matter how you did it.
January 30th, 2012
@annehans LOL! Thanks, Anne. I will tell after a little while longer! ;~}
January 30th, 2012
@debsphotos That sounds really cool but that isn't it. Is it wrong for me to be enjoying this so much?
January 30th, 2012
Love it. I was wondering how you shot this also. So, spill it.
January 30th, 2012
@debsphotos LOL...................sorry.
January 30th, 2012
@darsphotos Thanks, Darlene. I want to wait until a few more people who follow me see it before I spill it. ;~} I am having fun with it for now.
January 30th, 2012
@debsphotos I think i deleted your "mean" comment sorry. I want Robert and MaryBeth to see it before I tell. I promise I'll tell tomorrow if no one guesses.
January 30th, 2012
Hmmm... I'm stumped! But very neat effect! Can't wait to hear how you did it :)
January 30th, 2012
It's either one fo those multiple shots or a whole lot of BluTac or sticky plaster behind the scenes :-)
January 30th, 2012
@reemo Thanks, Reem. I appreciate it
January 30th, 2012
@jennwearing I had no idea this shot would create so much interest.
January 30th, 2012
@grammyn -- I saw the process when I first started the project and, go figure, can't remember.
January 30th, 2012
@debsphotos LOL! did YOU delete your comments? There were two on here that aren't here now. I can't figure out where they went.
January 30th, 2012
OMG! I am eating lunch and checked this as I gulp down a salad...about to run back to get the kids from the cafeteria! I LOVE it! This made me SMILE a MILE! So glad you finally "heard" me right. And I cannot wait for the tell all about how you did it! Looks like magic to me! But you said you'd tell when two people saw it....I can wait! :0) and....nice job! btw, I checked out that bamboo stand on my way by it yesterday from the lake...uhm, NO! It is thinned out now and only tiny little trees of it. And private prop I think. So.....that is not going to happen!
January 30th, 2012
@espyetta LOL!!! I am so glad you like it. Just as well about the bamboo. I found out this morning that MY bamboo made it to the PP (I have no idea how that happened) so if you shot some too it would just look like you are copying me. ;~}
January 30th, 2012
@grammyn Well, I telepathically feed you your ideas every day.....can't a girl copy sometimes? Haha! :0)
January 30th, 2012
@espyetta Well...................OK! LOL
January 30th, 2012
@peterdegraaff @debsphotos @espyetta @jennwearing @karenann @jennabug @marilyn @trumpetman @annehans @darsphotos @reemo I had so much fun shooting this and then seeing your comments. Thanks for being so patient with me for the explanation. Jennifer Wearing came closest to guessing. It is four bowls propped up on each other. I used a spool of thread to prop the second from the right and and the rest are being propped on each other. Thanks again for the interest and comments!!!
January 30th, 2012
@grammyn Very cool... I wondered if that was the "secret"... well except for the spool of thread part. :)
January 31st, 2012
@marilyn It never even occurred to that anyone would think it was actually only one bowl!
January 31st, 2012
@grammyn -- you had me fooled. Especially since I saw that new fangled camera that will put movement together in one shot like this. Love it, Katy. You deserve a huge FAV for this one. (Sorry I didn't fave it earlier...I was baffled!)
January 31st, 2012
very cool!
January 31st, 2012
@grammyn Wow!! Good on you for this photo- it's kept us all guessing. BTW the black background looks fantastic:-) I'd be interested in knowing how you did that... Is it a sheet or something else?
January 31st, 2012
@debsphotos I didn't know my camera would do that! That is so far ahead of where I am! I thank you for the FAV and appreciate your interest, Debbie!
January 31st, 2012
@nyusha Thanks,Anna!
January 31st, 2012
@jennwearing Thanks so much , Jennifer. The background is a black velvet dress-up dress from my grandchildren's toy room.
January 31st, 2012
@grammyn -- Oh, I'm not sure your camera will do that. I just mentioned it cause I saw a presentation of one that does on TV.
February 1st, 2012
@grammyn -- That process, by the way, is for like someone running. You snap successive pictures and then the camera puts them together on one shot. I know my camera doesn't do that. It's a point and shoot with some fandangled features.
February 1st, 2012
@debsphotos I'm reasonably certain my camera WON'T do that and even if it did........operator error I am sure! ;~}
