Perspective

Limited opportunity to get out for photography forces me to look at every day scenes with a different perspective. I have often complained about a composition being ruined by a view such as this. Who knew someday it would actually be the subject of my shot?! Lesson learned!

Good point! I actually love the utility lines now and have a few favorites around the neighborhood that I visit in case there's a bird sitting perfectly posed and ready for a snap!

@vskolnik I guess they DO serve a purpose other than the intended one! (;

Yep! You know I know! I have so many power lines and poles here. But they are great subjects at times

Love the perspective! My equivalent shot took a similary tack: originally of something else, and fairly last minute either way. You've captured this well.

Since you mentioned composition... :) Fabulous, as usual!

There is power in this photo

Nice shot! I took a photo of a dove (22nd Nov) that was sitting on the electricity pole/transformer and decided to use a shot that included some of the power equipment. It can be quite interesting at times.

@espyetta It worked ok this time anyway!

@jmrittle I appreciate the critique.

@marilyn Lol!! Thanks so much!

@digitalrn Lol! Yup!

@kiwiflora It did give your shot a different interest than if it had been just the dove. Thanks, Francoise.

The lines and your composition make for an interesting shot. I used to complain a lot about power lines and sometimes tried, with varying success, to edit them out. And then someone on 365 (it might have been you) said they are part of the scene and to leave them.

Neat shot, Katy. I think it's my goal in life to rid the world of utility lines.

Nice pov

@eudora Thanks so much, Diane. There are times when they are an integral part of the shot for sure.

@hankinsphoto Thanks Steve. Most of the time I would agree with you.

@kbird61 I appreciate it, Kay. Thanks.

Nice perspective! I always like the wires, but hate when they photobomb my photos.
January 26th, 2014
@swguevin I am right there with you on that! Thanks, Sheila!

So true, Katy! 365 has certainly taught me to look around me in a different way! Great capture of an ordinary everyday thing!

@kwiksilver thanks Gillian for that support of my desperation shot!! (;

I was looking out my window the other day and thinking of taking a shot of the power lines as well.So I did today. You did a nice job here with yours.
