My Hero

When l grow up l want to be just like her! She squatted and lifted overhead 55 pounds as many times as she could in 30 seconds with a minute thirty second rest between each of four rounds
Well, I've grown up and have decided I'm glad I didn't do this! Think of the strain on the heart which does not grow or develop new muscles!

A wonderful, wonderful shot! It’s going straight in my favorites. I love the strong focus on the woman doing the lifting, and the inclusion of the others in the background.

this is why i don't go to the gym anymore. the trainer always insisted that i lift weights. i don't like it and i don't see how it is good for one's health when you can easily dislocate something. very nice capture though and i like it in black and white.

@summerfield l really appreciate your positive comments. I gues you start with small weights and work up to it so you don't dislocate, but at our age that might even be a stretch! thanks too for the heads up about the weekly finals!

@grammyn - yes, start with small weights. like the 2L ice cream tub is a perfect start. actually 2 x 2L, different flavours, of course. :-D
