Saw this old home place and could not get closer due to a barbed wire fence. This shot is almost SOOC, I used the autofix on Picnik and cropped the photo. I tried it in black and white and sepia but did not like them as much. It was tempting to cross the fence, but there are cows in that pasture. This is definitely a little house on a prairie (in Texas).
Ah quite sad really, wonder what farming family lived there ! The wind turbine makes it look quite desolate ...you can almost hear it creaking ! What does SOOC mean ? Have seen it lots but can't work it out Linda ?
@happypat I found a comment that said that SOOC means "Straight Out of Camera". There is another old building behind that one and I plan on going back to see if there might be a road that goes nearby so that I can get a close up of them. I imagine that it was the typical house of it's day. It had wooden shingles that show where the other shingles have peeled off. We found it on the way to an open house at an old ranch.
I have a thing for old houses, barns...those places that make you wonder what it was like when it was once bustling with life. This is a great example of just that.
@jrichardson30 So do I. Unfortunately, they are hard to find here, we have to drive quite a way from the city to find anything. Progress, you know. @happypat I had been puzzled over what it meant also.
