Plow'n the Blue Bonnets

Texas Blue Bonnets with an old plow amongst them. We visited an old ranch on Saturday and this was one of the photos that I took.
Fantastic capture!

Lovely photo, very moody.

I like the way the swirl of the flowers takes the eye round the plough (English spelling) up round the tree. Lovely colours (Eng again) and composition.

@orangecrush @dodie @janek Thank you for your kind comments. I love the Texas bluebonnets, they were not as thick this year as last year, due to the lack of rainfall at the right time.

Great shot. The old plow in the bluebonnet field makes and interesting picture.

@vernabeth Thanks! I have wondered if the farm implements were ones that were actually used on that ranch. It has an open house one day a year.

oh how fortunate to live amongst that beauty! Wonderful photo.

@meeyauw It would be great, it is about an hour's drive from where I live. Unfortunately, it is not that pretty where I live. No bluebonnets near my home this year.

Wonderful composition! And such pretty flowers too - I like the occasional splashes of red in between.

I love the bluebonnets and indian paint brushes. My parents live in Burnett very few flowers this year too, not enough rain. We have been hogging it all here in the east : )

@deebug I love the wildflowers in Texas, such as the Bluebonnet, Indian Paint Brushes and another flower that I think is called an Indian Blanket. This year they are few and far between.

Beautiful!

@sassykat This was taken at the Shaw-Kemp Ranch off Hwy. 51 between Weatherford and Granbury. They have an open house one day a year around the time the Bluebonnets bloom. You can Google it and find some articles about it.

Thank you for telling me about it. I'll look it up for next year. :)
I'm out on Hwy 51 near Granbury at least one day a week right now...I'm sure it's not far from here.

@sassykat You can watch for it on the Weatherford sites online: the paper and the Chamber of Commerce. It was on April 16th this year.
