These were amongst the photos that I took on Saturday and decided to upload the photo of the reflection in the pond. It amazes me that the buds look reddish or pink until they open, then they are yellow until they close again. There is a large cactus plant on the outer edge of the pond, nearby the road.
Thanks to everyone that commented on the photo posted yesterday and the ones that comment on this one. I appreciate your comments and suggestions very much. Due to the growing popularity of not sending multiple thanks to a group of people or each person by hitting the reply button, I am going to try it this way for a while. I will answer any questions or comments that might need a reply individually.
@happypat Yes, Pat, they are real. I may post the pic that I took of the whole area or just the cactus "tree" that was in the middle of the group. The one in the middle is how they look after it flowers, then closes. The bud is similar and I may post one as a filler. I was lucky with the lighting. Early evening, as the sun was about to set under a canopy of a couple of trees, with the sun shining through on some of the cacti. Since I am not a pro, I have to have some luck once in a while!
@grannysue I don't know anything about cactus that's why was so interested in this flowering from the leaf. These must be flowering out side too from your description!
