Same egret and fish as yesterday. The egret dunked the fish in the water a couple of times, this shot was just as he was about to drop him.
I darkened the background for more contrast.

I think the dark background works well. You are able to see all the details of the fish and its fins. Have you tried cropping closer on just his neck and head? It is such a great S shape and the body really does not add to the nature story.
@deebug I tried to edit in Picnik, but it would not let me save it. It did look better. I will edit a similar pic and post to my Extras album. Thanks for the tip!
@paulchantler Thanks! I posted more shots of this egret on my Extras album. It is so hot here, that I was surprised to find him in a city pond of all places. I thought perhaps they had migrated to somewhere a bit cooler by now.
