This is a Pontia protodice or White Checkered Butterfly on a Bastard Cabbage plant. This weed is taking over and choking out the good wildflowers such as the Blubonnets in Texas. Notice the beautiful color of it's eyes.
I have been trying to get a shot of these small white butterflies for a while and they have been illusive, but finally got several shots to day - thanks to that horrible weed.
