We took a road to town that I had not traveled on in over 20 years. This covered bridge was a pleasant surprise to find in this part of Texas. It is over a very deep ravine. This is the best shot that I could get due to the growth of trees, bushes and weeds. You can not cross this bridge unless you have a key to the lock. There are some realtor signs posted to the side, looks like something is for sale across the bridge. Further down there is an opening in the trees and I plan on going back to take photos of the ravine.
Thank you for viewing and commenting, I appreciate it.
This was taken on June 20, but I am posting it on the page for the 19th.
@lyno Thank you! @clmiller It is the first one I have seen in Texas. @marlboromaam LOL! There probably was a camera somewhere around there. The thing on the roof looks like some kind of solar panel. Not South Fork - it was west of Fort Worth. We did see a couple of
VERY nice ranch houses and ranches out there.
What a fabulous find and I love the framing of the trees. Great job on the photo. Would love to see more photos of this area....ravine, etc. I love out of the way scenes.
Beautiful and unique covered bridge Linda! I don't recall ever seeing a bridge made out of wooden beams and the support beams covered with stone. Great find!
Covered bridges have always fascinated me. For some reason they look slightly mysterious. I don't really know why people would build such bridges; I mean, what's the point of having a roof on a bridge? Could the structure be sturdier that way?
