I took this shot yesterday at sunset. This man would throw the net into the water, then pull it up. I left soon after and never saw him catch anything. He was kind enough to allow me to take some photos of him casting the net. I liked the blue color of it against the pink sky. If you look at his left wrist, you will see that there is a rope attached to a band on his wrist. This keeps the net from getting away from him in the water.

Beautiful candid capture, Linda .... love the silhouette against the lovely pink sky! Is this near the ocean?! What is he casting for, do you know? It's really a gorgeous time of day.
@karenann It is Lake Worth, Texas near the bridge. I think he was casting for whatever he could catch. It is so hot here, that I think the fish are probably in deeper water and not near the shore.
Nice catch on this one. My husband has one of these cast nets for catching live bait, but we're not allowed to use it in this state. We have to wait until we go outside the state to be able to cast it. They're very effective for catching small mullet and sardines in this part of the world.
I love the colors too and i did not know that they attached the net to themselves! hmmmm.. what if they catch a big shark!! Yikes!! :0) Great Action shot Linda!
