I was trying to take a photo of another butterfly with perfect wings when this guy butted in on the shot. So I went with it and decided I like him or her as it has lots of character. It has lived it's life as best it could and weathered the storms of life to come out with a few dings and tatters.
Thank you for your views and comments, they are appreciated.
Check out the ducklings in my Extras album that I took with my new lens.
Linda, the detail, color and lighting in this shot are beautiful! I grew up in Texas and I look forward to following you and seeing more of your wildlife and nature shots from down there. Great photo!
@grannysue born in San Antonio and grew up in Midland. If I ever moved back ft worth would be at the top of my list. Lots of great memories from my childhood visiting my grandparents there AND the great Mexican food!
What a fabulous macro shot.! I am just starting to try these kind of shots, can you tell me which lens you use? And perhaps give me some advice on how to take good macro. I have a canon 650D which I think is the same as the Rebel T4i. I have the kit lens 18-55mm , Prime lens 50mm and 70-300mm - all Canon.
@happysnapper65 Thank you for your comments. I believe I was using the kit lens 18-55mm. I have a 55-250mm Canon. I wish I had the 50mm prime lens and the 70-300mm Canon. The 50mm is next on my wish list. I recently bought three Sigma lens, but it was just after this shot that I got them.
