Expectant Mares Trying to Get Out of the Hot Texas Sun
These mares look like they are expecting. There are two more in the pasture with them, but I could not get them to pose correctly. All trying to get in the shade of the tree. Last year there was a pretty paint stallion in this pasture and more mares as well as a foal or two. They must have moved the other mares, the stallion and the foals as I have not seen them this year. They really wanted some attention, but I was not going to cross the ditch with it's high grass, no telling what might be lurking in it.
@lynne5477 I looked through your album and saw them. In fact, I wonder now if maybe I saw you taking some photos there when I drove by. I have seen a lady taking photos there, one time I saw one go inside the fence. I go by that way quite often on my way home when 35 is backed up. There are a couple of foals at another ranch on that same road, but I have not been able to get their photos. Just has not worked out right.
