No that is not strange looking water the turtle is in, it is trying to crawl across carpet. One of the managers rescued it from the highway on his way to work this morning. It was near a pond and he was going to take it back to the pond at lunch after showing his grandchildren.
It was photo shy and we would have to be very sneaky to try to take photos of it when it decided to stick it's head out of the shell.
This poor turtle appears to have some healed battle wounds on it's shell. It was lucky this time. I wonder sometimes why they cross the roads, why don't they just stay nearby their ponds.

Is this the turtle that says, "My ear is burning, someone must be talking about me"? His ear is really burning! Poor turtle - they must be a bit like our hedgehogs - always crossing the road and getting flattened!
