Another Texas Longhorn Steer in a pasture. I thought about titling it: Big Steer on the Prairie. This one has horns of a different shape than the ones on the previous Longhorn posting. He is a pasture mate of the other steer along with a lot of Black Angus cattle.
@lastrami_ Thank you! He is a beauty. Hoping I can find a herd with some Longhorn calves. But this rancher just had Longhorn steers in the pasture with his Angus herd.
@snuffbeastly Thanks! Yes, I certainly did. I used my 55-250 lens. There was a big heavy iron pipe fence between us, I had to shoot between the pipes as I am short, can't see over the top one.
@congaree Thank you for visiting and commenting, John! The length and shape of the horns are highly prized amongst Longhorn ranchers and enthusiasts. The steers horns grow larger than a bull or the Longhorn cow's horns.
@hjbenson Thank you for visiting, commenting and the fav, Harry! I was well protected behind a big steel pipe fence. My husband honked the truck horn to make the steer look in my direction.
great title
