Checkered White Butterfly on Coneflower

Best viewed on black if you have the time. I think this is a male White Checkered Butterfly, although at first I thought it was a Cabbage White Butterfly. They do look similar. Taken in May. I started to crop it down to just the butterfly and coneflower, but I liked the look of the grasses.

Beautiful shot- you're right though- it's definitely not the Cabbage White. I like that you left the grasses in too. They make the white of the butterfly stand out even more.

Beautiful color and textures. Butterflies seem expecially attracted to cone flowers. The white one shows up nicely against all the colors of the flowers. Fav
