When I bought this 100+ year old cedar trunk, it reeked of mothballs. Half measures availed nothing in terms of eliminating the stench and I finally ended up painting the interior with Kilz and polyurethane. Then I noticed the exterior needed some live as well, so I am refinishing it. It’s almost done now and hopefully we can use it to store linens, as we had originally intended.
