Giant Redwood Trees by handmade

Giant Redwood Trees

Family and I went hiking in Big Basin park today. It contains one of the last stands of old growth redwood trees. These redwood trees used to cover the mountains in this part of California but were heavily forested for the timber and was used to build many of the homes in San Francisco especially after the earthquake and fire in 1906. The largest of the trees reach a height of 250 feet and a circumference of 66 feet. Truly massive trees.

I had fun hiking today, thanks Jim, Liz and Jessie!
Great perspective
