Hawthorne Bridge by harbie

Hawthorne Bridge

I believe this is the Hawthorne Bridge in Portland which is over the Willamette River. Those who are from Portland (Cathie; @cathieg ), please correct me if I am wrong. :) It opened in 1910 and is 1382 ft high. This was my first time in Portland, and there are many beautiful bridges. I wish I hadn't been the one driving so I could have photographed a few more of them. We enjoyed our short time there. Thanks so much for putting "Beautiful Old Home" on the PP and TP. I really loved the architecture of that home!
interesting looking bridge - does it raise?

This is the sort of metal work that Charlie draws for engineers and architects. He will find this so interesting!

@bh365project. It does raise. I looked up some more info on it. It is a truss bridge, the oldest lift bridge in operation in the US, the oldest highway bridge in Portland and the busiest bridge for cyclists and transit in Oregon. @janeandcharlie
