We brought my youngest daughter, Annie 23 years old, a few days ago to the San Diego area. Today she started her dream of through hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (2,650 miles from the Mexican to the Canadian border). The start is called the Southern Terminus. She should finish the beginning of September. She has an In Reach GPS so she can let us know where she is on the trail and that everything is ok. You can see the border wall to the left. The hikers put their hand through it so they start in Mexico. As a Mom I worry, but she is knowledgeable and makes good decisions so I am excited for her to live out her dream. She hiked her first 13 miles today. Most days will be about 20 miles with some rest days in there. Thank you for viewing and a prayer or 2 sent her way would be appreciated!
Good luck to her. I wonder what the accommodations for crossing The Bridge of the Gods at the Cascade Locks WA/OR are? I didn't see any foot path the last time I went across it, although I was trying to stay calm when I went across in our RV, kinda like doing the Bright Angle Trail on mule back (that I have never done, too high off the ground).
